Closely affiliated with Dennis and Barbara Tedlock and Jerome Rothenberg, her work was instrumental in my understanding of my dissertation project, as well as the importance of weaving to poetics.

Read Shapeshift. It is one of my favorite books of poetry ever written. It does need to be read in its entirety, but it is a very reasonable length.

Her word in French/English writing and use of a variety of mediums of communication/transmission are a nice bridge between my two M.A.s. I also had the pleasure of introducing her at a poetry reading at University at Buffalo.

Her recent work has come under the spotlight and she spends a great deal of effort on the quality of her final product. I enjoyed her visit to UB with Orlando White. This was another introduction that was made through Dennis Tedlock.

About Harvey Breverman:

Professor Harvey Breverman is a professor of Art at SUNY Buffalo who drew the portrait of Dennis Tedlock used by the Electronic Poetry Center. Similarly, during a panel on Ethnopoetics, he drew a sketch of me of which he allowed me to take a photograph. This image is often associated with my poetic work. It reads: “Dennis : Projective Verse”
